    Lichterfelde

Berlin Lichterfelde is a district in the southwest of Berlin and belongs to the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough. It was originally founded as a villa colony and is still characterized today by its spacious architecture and green surroundings.

Lichterfelde was first mentioned in a document in 1239 and developed over time from a rural area into a sought-after residential location for wealthy Berliners.

A significant landmark of Lichterfelde is the Lichterfelde Manor House (Schloss Lichterfelde), an imposing building in the Historicism style. Originally used as a military academy, it now houses the administration of the Free University of Berlin.

The district also offers a variety of green spaces and parks, including the Botanical Garden Berlin, one of the largest botanical gardens in Germany. Here, visitors can discover an impressive variety of plant species and relax in idyllic surroundings.

Lichterfelde has a good infrastructure with shopping facilities, restaurants, schools, and public transport. The main traffic axis is Ostpreußendamm, where numerous shops and restaurants are located. Additionally, Lichterfelde is well-connected to Berlin's city center via several S-Bahn lines.
