The epicenter of Kollwitzkiez is the weekly market on Kollwitzplatz, which has become something of an institution. In addition to its special flair, the selection of regional delicacies is impressive. The aroma of freshly brewed fair trade coffee wafts over from the nearest café as you relax and browse through organic vegetables, ceramics, and natural cosmetics.
Named after physicist Hermann von Helmholtz, this square with its many small shops, cafés, and restaurants is particularly popular with young people and families. The Helmholtzkiez is a small world of its own between Wichertstraße and Prenzlauer Allee and is very popular with Berliners.
Here you will find a colorful mix of restaurants, bars, cozy cafés, small boutiques, and creative workshops that give the neighborhood its special flair. A stroll through Winsstraße to Prenzlauer Allee and Greifswalderstraße is well worth the trip.
